Global Warming Consequences

OK so we know exactly what Global Warming means and how it happens. We are also aware of the major consequences that could result from Global Warming . Now let’s talk about what we can do to FIGHT Global Warming. We know that it is very tempting to ask the question “How can one person make a difference?” The answer, according to climate scientists, is more than you might think.

We have solutions in hand right now to drastically cut global warming pollution. Instead of nearly doubling global warming pollution by 2050, we can cut it by more than half using today's technology. And with the proper incentives in place, even more innovative solutions will emerge along the way, leading to even bigger reductions.

The cheapest and fastest way to cut global warming pollution is to make things that use electricity -- like appliances, industrial equipment and buildings -- more energy-efficient. We know this works -- most of us have bought an Energy Star appliance or two, and have seen firsthand how much money and energy they can save. But there's still much more room for improvement, and we must continue to push for products that waste less energy. Of course, efficient appliances don't just save you money; they're better for the environment. The less energy we all use, the lower our demand on power plants, which means less pollution.

How to Reduce Your Energy Consumption
(which in turn reduces Global Warming)

The biggest cause of global warming is the carbon dioxide released when fossil fuels like oil and coal are burned for energy. So when you save energy, you fight global warming (and save money, of course).

Don't forget the basics. This simple stuff will save energy -- and money -- right now.
